SUMMARY:Enhancing Quality Early Learning (EQEL) Year 1 and Year 2
DESCRIPTION:@public \n\n\n\nEnhancing Quality Early Learning (EQEL) is a 20-hour training series completed over two years. This class is also part of PACE\, the community-based training option for meeting WAC education requirements. Visit DCYFs Training Requirements webpage for more information. Child Care Action Council offers EQEL Year 1 and Year 2 live-online and self-paced throughout the year. \n\n\n\n\nLIVE-ONLINE CLASSES – The EQEL Year 1 and Year 2 training series are offered live on Zoom. \n\n\n\nPlease note: \n\n\n\nThis class requires a strong internet connection\, a device that allows you to see and hear the content\, and the ability to un-mute or type responses during activities and discussions. \n\n\n\nActive participations and full attendance in all 10 hours of EQEL are required for STARS credit. \n\n\n\nClick Here to view a list of currently available Live Online classes and Register. \n\n\n\n\nSELF-PACED CLASSES – this self-paced option takes place on the DCYF Training site and requires participation in online discussion boards and communication with the CCAC trainer via email. Please check that the email address you used to register in the DCYF Training site is still active and be prepared to respond to emails from the instructor each week. \n\n\n\n\nTo search for Self-Paced classes and register: \n\n\n\n1. Log In to your DCYF Training Site account at dcyftraining.com \n\n\n\n2. In the Catalogue section on the left side\, click on the Cohorts subtab3. Under Role\, select Licensed Child Care4. All available trainings will be listed at the bottom. Select the cohort you would like (start and end dates will be listed in the training title.)5. Click the blue Register button to enroll.  \n\n\n\n\nPlease Note: \n\n\n\nWhen you select a class and register\, pay close attention to the start and end dates. All online assignments must be completed and reviewed by the instructor before the end date to receive class credit. \n\n\n\nAfter registering\, the cohort will be listed under the In Progress section. DESCRIPTION:PACE Part 2: Supporting Child Development & Wellness includes 20 hours of live online training divided into three Modules.  \n\n\n\nAll trainings in this series will take place live over Zoom on Weekday Evenings on the dates and times listed below: \n\n\n\nModule 1: Child Development (3-class series) \n\n\n\n\nThursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm\n\n\n\nSept 24\, Oct 1\, and Oct 8\, 2026.\n\n\n\n\nModule 2: Children and Families (4-class series) \n\n\n\n\nTuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm\n\n\n\nOct 20\, Oct 27\, Nov 3\, and Nov 10\, 2026.\n\n\n\n\nModule 3: Child Wellness (3-class series) \n\n\n\n\nTuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm\n\n\n\nDecember 1\, 8\, and 15\, 2026.\n\n\n\n\nPACE trainings include live online classes\, written assignments\, and job-embedded activities. Active participation and completion of all assignments are required for credit. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe PACE training series must be completed in order.  Before registering for PACE Part 2\, check your MERIT account and make sure you have completed and received credit for the following classes: \n\n\n\n\nChild Care Basics\n\n\n\nEnhancing Quality Early Learning (EQEL) Year 1 and Year 2\n\n\n\nPACE Part 1: The Field of Early Care & Education (Modules 1\, 2\, and 3)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProvider Access to a Community Equivalent (PACE) is an option for some ECE roles who need the equivalent to an initial or short certificate (assistant teachers\, lead teachers\, or family home licensee.)  For more information about PACE\, visit the DCYF website.

SUMMARY:The Business of Child Care
DESCRIPTION:The Business of Child Care \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a comprehensive business curriculum designed for child care owners and administrators. This curriculum covers business plans\, business leadership (hiring\, orienting\, etc.)\, marketing\, and finances. Webinars\, activities\, and homework assignments are designed to strengthen child care businesses and prepare them for lending opportunities\, and to improve facilities\, program marketing\, and overall program effectiveness. This virtual series is a mixture of live webinars and self-paced learning with homework. All work must be completed on time for 22 hours of STARS credit and no partial credit will be awarded. Interested administrators can print our detailed Business of Child Care flyer (under “Providers” on our website). NOTE: This class more than meets the WAC requirement for directors\, assistant directors\, and program supervisors who need 10 hours of leadership training every 3 years. Dates for virtual sessions are as follows\, 10/6/\, 10/13\, 10/20\, 11/3\, 11/10\, 11/17 Final Assignment due on 11/24. Please be sure you can attend ALL sessions before registering. This event is for providers working in Clallam\, Jefferson\, and Kitsap counties.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorking with Children and Youth who Challenge us– Have you ever been secretly pleased when one of the children in your group is absent? The temperaments of some children\, when combined with our own temperaments\, make relationships especially hard. This class will help you take an honest look at children and your feelings about them. Explore what professionals can do to build positive relationships with all children\, even the ones who challenge us. Trauma Aware Early Learning– It’s the little boy who bangs his head on the wall. It’s the 4-year-old girl who throws the chair in anger. It’s the 2-year-old who hits\, bites\, pushes\, and falls down in a rapid melt-down. These could be the faces of traumatized children. Come explore the impact of trauma on children and gain insight into why some children behave the way they do. Even if you don’t know the source of the trauma\, you can use what you observe to support harmed children in a “trauma-informed” manner.
