Provider Access to a Community Equivalent (PACE) is an option for ECE roles who need an initial or short certificate (assistant teachers, lead teachers, or family home licensee.) PACE is a training series that includes Child Care Basics and EQEL Year 1 and Year 2. After completing these foundation trainings, providers complete the PACE Modules and On-the-Job Learning.  To learn more, review the PACE Program Overview or attend an upcoming orientation:

PACE Part 1 is a 20-hour training series that includes 3 Modules. Completion of PACE Part 1 and Part 2 are equivalent to the education requirement for the initial certificate.  Child Care Action Council is currently offering PACE Part 1 and plans to schedule Part 2 for spring 2023.

PACE is available at no cost to providers who have chosen this community based option to meet the education requirement for their role. Each PACE Module requires attendance and participation in live, online classes and completion of a workbook.  PACE Modules 2 and 3 also include job-embedded learning activities.
