June 2026 Update:
Dear Imagination Library Families,
For many children, opening the mailbox to find a new book addressed just to them is a special moment. For parents and caregivers, those books become bedtime stories, favorite read-alouds, and opportunities to share time together. We have been honored to be part of those moments through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Today, we are writing with an important update. Due to funding limitations, Child Care Action Council is no longer able to support the local costs associated with providing Imagination Library books in Mason and Thurston Counties. The final books supported through our program were mailed in June 2026.
This was not an easy decision. We know how much families value receiving these books, and we have seen firsthand the excitement, learning, and connection they bring to children and caregivers alike.
We want to thank every family who participated in the Imagination Library over the years. It has been a privilege to help place books into the hands of children throughout our community and to support early literacy and a love of reading.
