CCAC is partnering with Capitol Land Trust to help with outdoor restoration needs. Come enjoy the summer weather while we help with invasive species removal, and weeding areas that the Land Trust has planted with native trees and shrubs. Volunteers will have the opportunity to exploring the property and walk the trails.
Inspiring Kids Preserve is a 108-acre property owned, protected, and managed by Capitol Land Trust on the eastern shore of Henderson Inlet in Thurston County, Washington. The preserve is home to nearly every native species of tree in western Washington and protects a mile of Puget Sound shoreline. Capitol Land Trust’s goal is that Inspiring Kids Preserve becomes a go-to place for outdoor STEAM learning, nature play, and rejuvenation.

Location: Garfield Elementary School, 325 Plymouth Street NW, Olympia, WA 98502
Volunteers that sign up for the 9:00 am – 10:30 am slot will be spray painting the base layer of the stencils. These are each assigned a level – from very easy (quick!) to hard. We also have a need for 4 CCAC Ambassadors who can work from 9:00 am to about 12:30 pm, helping bring painting volunteers to their spots and checking in on stations to offer assistance, water, etc. Anyone interested can email danielle.king@ccacwa.org.
