About the Child Care Action Council Board
Serving on our Board of Directors is a meaningful way to get involved with Child Care Action Council. Our Board supports CCAC by setting the long-term strategic direction of the agency, raising and allocating funds, and setting policies for operation.

Board Members actively participate on a committee, attend and participate in agency events, support volunteer recruitment, fundraise, participate actively in Board decisions and carry out all delegated assignments. Board participation requires about 10 hours of volunteer time each month.

Benefits of Service
Serving on the Child Care Action Council Board offers an opportunity to work with a diverse and committed group of volunteers who play a crucial role in the agency’s success. The time and talent of our Board provides the leadership and resources necessary to connect families with care that meets their needs, while working with child care providers and community partners to make quality child care and early education a reality for all children in our communities.

Board Qualifications
Child Care Action Council seeks board members with experience or skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Interest in child care issues, including direct child care, quality improvement, funding, and policy/administration

  • Community outreach, including public relations and marketing for our services
  • Board experience, with particular emphasis on organizational development and strategic management
  • Financial management, especially knowledge of accounting and financial control systems
  • Ability to represent the agency to the community and vice versa, especially communication skills
  • Management of large public or private corporations
  • A passion for service and a willing heart

Expectations of Board Members

  • Serve on and attend monthly meetings for a committee
