Child Care Action Council Receives All In WA Emergency Flexible Financial Assistance Grant

Child Care Action Council has been awarded a $25,000 grant from All in WA through its All In WA COVID-19 Relief Fund to provide immediate financial support for disproportionately impacted individuals and families in Washington. Funding will be distributed by Child Care Action Council to vulnerable families in Mason County facing multiple risk factors to be used for urgent needs including rental assistance, child care expenses, and healthcare costs. Families participating in Child Care Action Council’s Kaleidoscope Play & Learn and Parents as Teachers programs will be eligible to apply for assistance.

“Rural communities and communities facing systemic inequities have been disproportionately impacted by the hardships wrought by the pandemic,” shared Gary Burris, Executive Director of Child Care Action Council. “Many of the families we work with are struggling to make ends meet during this time. All In WA’s timely support will allow our organization to be even more responsive to the needs of the community by providing direct assistance to Mason County families, helping stabilize living situations, secure necessary child care, and cover the cost of other immediate, basic needs.”

All In WA is a coordinated statewide relief effort powered by a coalition of public officials, companies, philanthropic leaders, community foundations, United Way organizations, community leaders, frontline nonprofits, and individuals. This coalition is working to provide immediate critical and emergency supports for workers and families most impacted by COVID-19 across Washington state.
