Child Care Action Council Receives All In WA Grant to Distribute Financial Assistance to Child Care Providers
Child Care Action Council is honored to announce that has been awarded a $250,000 grant from All in WA through its $2,875,000 Child Care Initiative. This grant will enable Child Care Action Council to provide immediate, direct financial support to rural child care providers in Grays Harbor and Mason counties as well as rural areas of Thurston and Kitsap counties. Child Care Action Council will distribute grant funds to providers in Thurston and Kitsap counties who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
“Rural communities and communities of color have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic,” shared Gary Burris, Executive Director of Child Care Action Council. “Many child care providers have struggled to keep their doors open during this time due to significantly reduced operating revenue and have had to add hours to their already long work days in order to follow necessary health and safety protocols. All In WA’s generous support allows us to help bridge the gap for providers who are the backbone of our state’s child care system.”
All In WA is a coordinated statewide relief effort powered by a coalition of public officials, companies, philanthropic leaders, community foundations, United Way organizations, community leaders, frontline nonprofits, and individuals. This coalition is working to provide immediate critical and emergency supports for workers and families most impacted by COVID-19 across Washington state.
