Emergency Preparedness in Childcare Programs
This class is designed to equip childcare providers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to effectively prepare for and respond to emergencies in childcare settings. Participants will learn how to develop and implement comprehensive emergency plans, how to support the emotional and psychological needs of children during and after an emergency, and will explore available resources for creating a safe, resilient environment for both children and staff. The course covers a range of emergency scenarios, including natural disasters, fires, and incidents involving intruders. Participants will gain confidence in their ability to handle emergencies and will be empowered to create a safe and prepared environment for children, staff, and families. *Please plan your lunch needs. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch. You are more than welcome to bring something (We have a small fridge and microwave).
