PACE Part 2 (Feb-May 2026)

February 21 – May 16

PACE Part 2: Supporting Child Development & Wellness includes 20 hours of live online training divided into three Modules.

All trainings in this series will take place live over Zoom on Saturday mornings:

  • Module 1: Child Development (2-class series) – 9 am-12 pm on February 21 and March 7, 2026.
  • Module 2: Children and Families (3-class series) – 9 am-12 pm on March 21, April 4, and April 18, 2026.
  • Module 3: Child Wellness (2-class series) – 9 am-12 pm on May 2 and 16, 2026

PACE trainings include live online classes, written assignments, and job-embedded activities. Active participation and completion of all assignments are required for credit.

Free PACE is available at no cost for providers who have chosen this community based option to meet the education requirement for their role.

The PACE training series must be completed in order.  Before registering for PACE Part 2, check your MERIT account and make sure you have completed and received credit for the following classes:

  • Child Care Basics
  • Enhancing Quality Early Learning (EQEL) Year 1 and Year 2
  • PACE Part 1: The Field of Early Care & Education (Modules 1, 2, and 3)

Provider Access to a Community Equivalent (PACE) is an option for some ECE roles who need the equivalent to an initial or short certificate (assistant teachers, lead teachers, or family home licensee.)  For more information about PACE, visit the DCYF website.

All trainings in this series will take place live over Zoom on the dates listed. Active participation and full attendance in all online trainings are required for credit.
